Rolling Into Dozer Days: Building Community (and Sandcastles) in Longmont

Every June, Longmont’s future builders take the driver’s seat—and we’re always proud to be along for the ride. Dozer Days is one of those events that makes us step back and smile at what we do—not just asphalt and concrete, but community.

Held this year on June 21st and 22nd, Dozer Days 2025 brought thousands of local families together for two sun-soaked days of hands-on construction fun. Kids climbed into the cabs of real bulldozers, honked horns on backhoes, and took the controls with expert guidance (and some very patient volunteers).

And as always, our team at Colorado Pavement Solutions was right there in the dirt—guiding, organizing, and soaking up every moment.

Construction Equipment, Cotton Candy, and Community

For those who’ve never been, Dozer Days isn’t your typical festival. It’s a full-blown sandbox brought to life—designed to give kids a taste of the trades in the most unforgettable way possible. And in a city like Longmont, where growth meets grit, it hits home for us.

We set up early Friday morning with safety cones, signage, and plenty of high-vis gear.

Throughout the weekend, our crew helped manage equipment stations, answer questions from curious kids, and make sure everyone got their turn behind the wheel. Some of us were spotting for excavator rides, while others handed out swag and smiles at our booth.

A Weekend Full of Smiles (and Dust)

There’s nothing quite like seeing a kid’s face the moment they grip the controls of a full-size excavator. For the weekend, we saw hundreds of those moments—wide eyes, excited laughs, and a few “future operator” declarations from the crowd.

Some of us were stationed near the dozers, guiding kids through the controls.

Others worked behind the scenes to keep things running smoothly. It was hot, it was loud, and it was a blast. By the end of the weekend, our boots were dusty, our voices were hoarse, and we wouldn’t have changed a thing.

These are the kinds of days that remind us how much fun construction can be—and how important it is to share that with the next generation.

Local Roots Run Deep

Being based here in Colorado, we love any chance to get out in the community and support local causes. Longmont is growing fast, and events like Dozer Days help keep that growth connected. This year’s turnout was bigger than ever, and the energy was electric.

Families came from across Boulder County and beyond, many of them stopping by to say hi or learn more about what we do.

We even had a few past clients swing by to share updates on their driveways or commercial lots—proof that a strong foundation always leads to more than one kind of connection.

Come Ride With Us

Whether you’re a Longmont homeowner looking to redo your driveway, a business owner planning a parking lot upgrade, or just someone who loves a good front-loader selfie, we hope we’ll see you out next year.

Until then, we’re always here to help with trusted, local asphalt and concrete services backed by real relationships.
